3. FOR BEST RESULTS
Read the on-line help system for information on setting up
intelliScore to work according to your preferences in the
Options window. Review the Recording Guidelines sections to
learn how to record the best wave files. The New Project
Wizard steps you through the process of preparing
intelliScore to generate midi files and is designed to help
you achieve the most accurate recognition results in the
shortest amount of time. Case Studies are also included which
apply these steps to one of the sample wave files included
on the installation media. To take advantage of these
features, we therefore recommended that you install the Help
and Sample files along with the Application files.

6. RELEASE NOTES
Version 4.0:
* Live performance mode. Control a MIDI-enabled instrument or
your computerÆs sound card in real-time while you play an acoustic
instrument. In conjunction with the included HubiÆs MIDI Loopback
Device, you can record MIDI directly into a sequencer while you
play your acoustic instrument. No need to use expensive hardware
MIDI pickups! Use one of intelliScoreÆs predefined instrument
templates, or easily create your own.
* MP3 support. You can now supply music to intelliScore in the
form of a wave file, MP3 file, or live audio. IntelliScore
converts this audio to MIDI data.
* Greater realism. With monophonic audio, intelliScore accurately
tracks changes in volume and pitch while notes are being held,
faithfully recreating effects such as pitch bend, vibrato,
tremolo, and portamento, so MIDI performances are now more
expressive.
* Timing detection. IntelliScore can now automatically determine
tempo, notes per beat (timing resolution), meter, beats per chord,
and measure synchronization. Achieve better recognition results
with less effort. You no longer need to tap in the tempo!
* Easier recording. The new real-time record level meter helps
you record your audio at the optimum level the first time.
* More accurate. IntelliScoreÆs new recognition algorithm results
in near perfect accuracy with monophonic audio. Additionally,
enhancements in intelliScoreÆs patented polyphonic recognition
algorithm has resulted in a 30% increase in accuracy compared to
previous versions with polyphonic audio.
* New optimizations result in recognition times up to three times
faster than previous versions.
Version 3.1:
* IntelliScore now runs properly under Asian versions of Windows
* More extensive error checking
* Several minor bug fixes
Version 3.0:
* New Project Wizard that steps you through the process of
preparing intelliScore to generate midi files and is designed
to help you achieve the most accurate recognition results in
the shortest amount of time. IntelliScore is now easier to
use than ever.
* You can now record your music directly into intelliScore. You
no longer need to create a wave file before using intelliScore.
* IntelliScore automatically checks if your wave file was
recorded at the optimum level.
* IntelliScore now includes 95 filters, each designed to match
the characteristics of a specific instrument. If your wave file
contains a single instrument, recognition accuracy is greatly
improved.
* New Tap Extender automatically extends your tapping to the
beginning of the wave file if you have difficulty beginning
tapping on the first beat
7. DEMONSTRATION VERSION
