  31. 2. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
  32. * Intel Pentium or higher (or compatible processor).
  33. Pentium II or higher recommended for live performance mode. 
  34. * Windows 95/98/Me with 16M of memory, or Windows NT 4.0/2000/XP
  35. with 24M of memory. 4M additional memory recommended for live
  36. performance mode.
  37. * Mouse or compatible pointing device
  38. * CD-ROM drive to install the program or an Internet
  39. connection to download the program
  40. * Windows compatible sound card, such as Sound Blaster, 
  41. that supports recording of 16-bit wave files at 44100 Hz and 
  42. plays MIDI files following the General MIDI standard

  59. 3. FOR BEST RESULTS
  60. Read the on-line help system for information on setting up
  61. intelliScore to work according to your preferences in the
  62. Options window.  Review the Recording Guidelines sections to
  63. learn how to record the best wave files.  The New Project
  64. Wizard steps you through the process of preparing
  65. intelliScore to generate midi files and is designed to help
  66. you achieve the most accurate recognition results in the
  67. shortest amount of time.  Case Studies are also included which
  68. apply these steps to one of the sample wave files included
  69. on the installation media.  To take advantage of these
  70. features, we therefore recommended that you install the Help
  71. and Sample files along with the Application files.

  74. 4. ON-LINE HELP
  75. intelliScore contains extensive on-line help at several levels:
  76. * The first time you use intelliScore, you may want to select "Help |
  77. Getting Started Guide"
  78. * Find answers to common questions by selecting "Help | Solutions to
  79. General Problems" 
  80. * To access general help such as background information, select "Help
  81. | intelliScore Polyphonic Help" from the Menu Bar, click on the
  82. Question Mark Icon on the Tool Bar, or press <F1>
  83. * For a general explanation of the use and functionality of a window,
  84. click the Help button on that window
  85. * For an explanation of a particular control on a window, click 
  86. on the "WhatÆs This" Question Mark icon at the upper right 
  87. corner of the window if it is present, and then click on the 
  88. control you want to know more about.  Alternatively, you may click on
  89. the control you want to know more about, then press <F1>
  90. * When an error message appears, you can often get more 
  91. information about the error by pressing the Help key or <F1> 
  92. key before dismissing the message box

  95. 5. TECHNICAL SUPPORT
  96. If you have tried everything suggested in the On-Line Help 
  97. and yet are still experiencing difficulties, try visiting our Web 
  98. site at http://www.intelliscore.net for troubleshooting tips and 
  99. patches.  If you donÆt find what you need, email the Help 
  100. Desk for assistance at support@intelliScore.net for a prompt 
  101. and courteous response.  Please provide the following information:
  102. * Your name (so we can identify you as a registered customer)
  103. * The edition and version of your software (Polyphonic 
  104. Edition, Version 4.0 - Demonstration)
  105. * Exactly what you were doing when the error occurred
  106. * The exact error message, including the error code if one is 
  107. displayed

  110. 6. RELEASE NOTES
  111. Version 4.0:
  112. * Live performance mode.  Control a MIDI-enabled instrument or
  113. your computerÆs sound card in real-time while you play an acoustic
  114. instrument.  In conjunction with the included HubiÆs MIDI Loopback
  115. Device, you can record MIDI directly into a sequencer while you
  116. play your acoustic instrument.  No need to use expensive hardware
  117. MIDI pickups!  Use one of intelliScoreÆs predefined instrument
  118. templates, or easily create your own.
  119. * MP3 support.  You can now supply music to intelliScore in the
  120. form of a wave file, MP3 file, or live audio.  IntelliScore
  121. converts this audio to MIDI data.
  122. * Greater realism.  With monophonic audio, intelliScore accurately
  123. tracks changes in volume and pitch while notes are being held,
  124. faithfully recreating effects such as pitch bend, vibrato,
  125. tremolo, and portamento, so MIDI performances are now more
  126. expressive.
  127. * Timing detection.  IntelliScore can now automatically determine
  128. tempo, notes per beat (timing resolution), meter, beats per chord,
  129. and measure synchronization.  Achieve better recognition results
  130. with less effort.  You no longer need to tap in the tempo! 
  131. * Easier recording.  The new real-time record level meter helps
  132. you record your audio at the optimum level the first time.
  133. * More accurate.  IntelliScoreÆs new recognition algorithm results
  134. in near perfect accuracy with monophonic audio.  Additionally,
  135. enhancements in intelliScoreÆs patented polyphonic recognition
  136. algorithm has resulted in a 30% increase in accuracy compared to
  137. previous versions with polyphonic audio.
  138. * New optimizations result in recognition times up to three times
  139. faster than previous versions.

  142. * IntelliScore now runs properly under Asian versions of Windows
  143. * More extensive error checking
  144. * Several minor bug fixes

  147. * New Project Wizard that steps you through the process of

  155. recorded at the optimum level.
  156. * IntelliScore now includes 95 filters, each designed to match
  157. the characteristics of a specific instrument.  If your wave file
  158. contains a single instrument, recognition accuracy is greatly
  159. improved.
  160. * New Tap Extender automatically extends your tapping to the
  161. beginning of the wave file if you have difficulty beginning
  162. tapping on the first beat

  166. This is a demonstration version of intelliScore.  The full

  169. limits recognition to the first 15 seconds of audio.)

  171. assist in learning the software and for experimentation
